Kimberly Burns – Yoga Rehab: Finding Neutral Spine.

Is your spine affecting your thyroid? Learn more at Yoga rehab 9/17 2-5 pm at Pineapple Yoga Studio.

The thyroid gland is located just below the larynx, in front of and to the side of the trachea on the front of the neck. Spinal misalignment in the cervical spine can cause thyroid dysfunction pushing it into a state of dysfunction. Cervical misalignment may also cause damage to hypothalamic, pituitary, and adrenal glands which regulate the stress hormone, cortisol. Cervical nerve dysfunction can be caused by congenital disorders, chronic pain, whiplash and more.

When abnormal motion is occurring, stretching and tearing of the ligaments can create misalignment of the cervical vertebrae. Women are at higher risk of injuries to the cervical area due to typically having less muscle mass and smaller tendons and ligaments.

Find out more how your spine influences health issues such as hypothyroidism, leaky gut, tendonitis, headaches and much more!
