October 29, 2016 Sip The Sunshine

Nathan Benderson Park To Showcase Craft Beers.

On Saturday, October 29th, 2016 at Nathan Benderson Park will host Sip the Sunshine All-Florida Craft Beer Festival [1]. The festival will showcase the talents of Florida’s award-winning established breweries and those younger breweries guests may not have heard of yet. In addition, the areas finest chefs and caterers will be treating patrons with Florida inspired cuisine. A limited amount of VIP tickets will be available at $125 while General Admission tickets are $45 per person. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the University of South Florida Sarasota/Manatee’s Food and Beverage Science Program. Tickets are available at Sipthesunshine.com [1].

For much of its craft beer history, Florida has not had a training ground for its craft brewers outside of their homes’ garages. The Beer Science Course of USF – Sarasota/Manatee’s Food and Beverage Science Program will help train the next generation of Florida brewers. This program aims to be as renowned as nationally recognized brewing programs at the University of California, Davis and the Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago. The only way to continue the explosive growth Florida has seen in its craft beer community is to support the passion inside those beer enthusiasts that want to take the next step. Sip the Sunshine will donate a portion of the proceeds from each year’s festival to the Beer Science Course of USF – Sarasota/Manatee’s Food and Beverage Science Program. The school’s dedication to the future of Florida craft beer is worth supporting.

While guests are enjoying the best craft beer from the state, we are also giving the Florida craft beer community a reason to celebrate for years to come! During the event, guests will enjoy unlimited craft beer samplings from Florida’s finest breweries. We have also secured the area’s top chefs and caterers, including Fete Catering, Nancy’s, Chef Christian Hershman, Chef Steve Phelps, Chef Darwin Santa Maria and Chef Paul Mattison, to create Florida-inspired cuisine for attendees. In addition, there will be live music throughout the event and an exit swag bag for each guest.

Sundown Session is an evening concert that will follow the craft beer festival.
