Clifford M. Scholz Architects Adds Partners

Rick Oswald And Daniel Shaffer Are Now Partners At CMSA.

Clifford M. Scholz Architects (CMSA) [1] announced that Rick Oswald and Daniel Shaffer are now partners in the firm. CMSA has worked with Rick on a number of joint venture projects and Daniel has worked at the firm for the past four years as an associate. In addition, you’ll start to see CMSA rolling out an updated brand. CMSA is constantly thinking about innovative ways to design for our clients and it was the right time to update the company’s overall look and feel.

Rick Oswald Cliff Scholz Daniel Shaffer [2]Rick joins the team as the firm’s Senior Vice President. Bringing nearly 40 years of experience as a registered architect and general contractor in Colorado, he has the unique ability to understand the implications of design on construction. Rick’s passion for architecture and excellence in design and construction ultimately led him to start his own design-build firm in 1996 in Colorado previously known as Terra Verde Development–a pioneer in the area’s ‘built green movement.’ Much of his work can be found in Aspen, CO on the western slope to Boulder, CO on the front range. The similarity in design aesthetic and work ethic made Rick a natural fit as an addition to our team. He takes a great deal of pride not only in the high caliber design work that he puts forth, but even more so in the level of service that he offers to his clients. He has also been recognized as a leader in innovative design and construction techniques among industry peers, as well as in the media and professional organizations.

Daniel will serve as Junior Vice President, managing client projects directly and serve as a leader for the CMSA team. A Sarasota-native, Shaffer took his passion for math and science and translated that to his career of architecture. With a vast knowledge of cutting edge design programs and innovation in building technology, he brings new energy to the table.

“It was important for me to continue the high caliber of design that CMSA represents. The addition of Rick and Daniel as partners is a way for our firm to get even better, expand our workload and market sectors and continue doing great design work. I’m confident that adding Rick and Daniel will enhance your experience working with our team and look forward to you meeting them in the near future. I am very excited about the upcoming changes for the firm and your continued support along the way. As always, I will be right in the middle of it continuing to provide my design work and leadership,” shares founder Cliff Scholz.
