Lakewood Ranch Golf Update

By Curtis Andrews & Mark Lawrence

There are more than 1,250 Floridian golf courses, more than any other State, and many are open to the green fee paying public, however if you want to play the very best golf courses in the area it will require effort and skillful networking.

akewood National Golf Club in Lakewood Ranch recently hosted the inaugural PGA “Suncoast Classic” tournament the second week of February. 156 players competed for a $550,000 purse. A five-year deal is in place with the PGA and Lakewood National through 2023. This year’s tournament was won by Colorado native Mark Hubbard who secured his first Web.com Tour title in his 65th start, firing a four-round total of 26-under to secure a two-shot win over Maverick McNealy.

Developed by Lennar Homes, in conjunction with the Lakewood National Golf & Country Club masterpiece community, Lakewood National is a 2017 Arnold Palmer Design course featuring a layout unique to the western central Florida landscape that encompasses a natural, rustic feel with a classic touch rooted in the Golden Age of golf course architecture.

If you are a golfer, Lakewood Ranch offers a variety of courses to take a swing at. Some of the courses in Lakewood Ranch are:
