Trickbot is not a new threat, but it continues to evolve. The latest Trojan evolution as far as Windows 10 users are concerned is the addition of new methods to not only evade but actually disable Windows Defender security protection.
Microsoft has always been front and center as far as Trickbot attack campaigns are concerned since Word and Excel files are a favored target of the Trojan. The latest campaign targets Windows 10 users by utilizing aconvincing Office 365 page to prompt users for browser updates that install the Trojan.
But the real stealth, and what makes Trickbot one of the more dangerous Trojans out there right now, is how it targets Windows 10 users who rely upon Windows Defender to protect their machines from malware threats.
