It was the care he showed in what we were producing that made the switch easy. Our first issue together was renowned architect, Carl Abbott. 55 issues later Giovanni celebrates his 50th year of photography by gracing this issue’s cover.

It all started in 1977, when a group of avid volleyball players in Long Island took the game to a new venue: the beach. “We played coordinated events in the winter,” recalls Rich Heiles, a founding member of East End Volleyball (EEVB). As enthusiasm grew, so did participation. Tremendous talent was cultivated on those sandy courts, and beach volleyball came into its own.

Giovanni has photographed many of the world’s most beautiful women, captured striking landscapes and framed unique commercial shots. Born and raised in Parma, Italy, Giovanni Lunardi now calls Sarasota, Florida his home. What many don’t know is in 1979 Giovanni launched into the world of art, creating a line of 3 dimensional artwork.
