8 Months of New Detours Loom Large! Starting at 11 p.m. Thursday, January 2nd, the westbound on-ramp that connects State Road 70 to the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 will close, forcing detours the next eight months. Instead of taking the SR 70 westbound on-ramp, motorists should access I-75 southbound by making a left turn at the traffic signal and taking the eastbound on-ramp. Duplexes Now Allowed In Single Family Neighborhoods. Oregon has become the first state in the nation to require cities with a population of more than 10,000 to permit duplexes in neighborhoods that were once zoned for single-family zoning—or only one home per lot. Oregon Gov. New Rules Should Open Up The Condo Market For Buyers. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development released updated guidelines on FHA-insured condominium financing. The new rules allow more buyers to obtain low down-payment mortgages on affordable housing options. Specifically, the new rules will: • Extend FHA certifications on condo developments from two years to three years, reducing the compliance burden on condo boards. • Allow for single-unit mortgage approvals—often known as spot approvals—which will enable FHA insurance of individual condo units, even if the property does not have FHA approval. • Secure additional flexibility in the ratio of […]
