Andy Warhol’s 92nd Birthday Andy Warhol (born Andrew Warhola) was born August 6, 1928, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Rusyn (Ukrainian) immigrants from Mikova (northeastern Slovakia). Warhol was sick throughout most of his childhood and as a result, spent much of his time alone in his bed. He later credited much of his personality and skills to this time in his life, which he spent drawing and collecting pictures of movie stars. After graduating from the Carnegie Institute of Technology with a degree in graphic design, Warhol moved to New York City, where he worked as a magazine illustrator. Throughout the […]
2019 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. Who Took The Honors? Concours founder and chairman Bill Warner, a small paid staff and 600 volunteers set up the annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance classic car event at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island and the Golf Club of Amelia Island. What a show it was. Sunny skies and fabulous automobiles; creations of art, made up the show. “The judges told me they really struggled with it,” Warner said (Amelia Concours Founder). “But when you look at the two Best of Shows, the Ferrari 335S and Autobahn Courier, it had to be those two. There were […]

Homo Too Sapiens By Piero Rivolta Homo Too Sapiens is a collection of provocative observations from the novels and books of poetry by award-winning poet, Piero Rivolta. Laced with passion, wit and humor, and tinged with irony, they address a wide range of human concerns, including sexuality, ethnic differences, media, politics, bureaucracy, money, creativity, imagination, and consciousness. Rivolta’s love for humanity is as evident as his frustration with people’s pettiness, willful ignorance and inability to learn from history. You may not agree with all of his assertions and suggestions, but they will challenge you, amuse you and make you think […]

Olivia Newton John Wellness And Healthy Living By Kimberly Burns, OTR/L, CLT “Did Sandy sell-out and become Danny’s leather clad dream or did she claim her sexuality and her inner self?” Unfortunately I did not ask this question. Too much speculation has already been made about the ending and my focus was to reach into the mind of ONJ on health and wellbeing. Live on, live on More than just survive my friend We learn how to thrive and then live on, live on Shining like the words inside this song, live on Love is all we leave when we […]

Giovanni Lunardi’s View of the World By Richard F. Corrigan It is said that to understand a man’s life you have to walk in his shoes. You can’t, really. But for the first time, you will be allowed to look through another man’s eyes. This is an invitation to view something you have never before been allowed to experience. It’s not scary, but it may cause you to gasp. Your jaw may drop, and you may hear yourself utter words like, “Unbelievable! Amazing! Phenomenal! WOW!” There is not any one of your friends or acquaintances you are even close to […]
James M. Towery The Art and Science of Design with Nature By Ed Bertha Photography by Giovanni Lunardi Layout by Christian Lunardi Growing up in Michigan, outside Detroit, James “Jim” Towery’s life was like so many others in The Motor City.
