In the 1930’s the real estate community witnessed an influx of women working in the real estate industry. In 1938 the Women’s Council of Realtors was established with 37 founding members. Today the Women’s Council is a nationwide community of over 12,000 real estate professionals, including many of the best and brightest in the business. The Women’s Council’s vision is “Through our influence as successful business professionals, women will effect positive change in the profession and in the broader community”.

Julia Montei, current President of the Women’s Council of Realtors Sarasota shares, “As one of the strongest networks in the Realtor family, the Council seeks to distribute information to its membership that is relevant, timely, and furthers the goals of the Realtor organization. Sarasota’s currently membership is made up of 80% Realtors and 20% business partners. Our membership continues to grow.”

She continues, “The Women’s Council is made up of a high percentage of successful, professional Realtors. Statistics show members earn more than two times the average Realtor, are in business 25% longer than the average Realtor and generate 50% of their business from referrals. Women’s Council members send and receive referrals with confidence, knowing that their values are shared when it comes to providing outstanding service to their clients.”

Women’s Council members are known as leaders in business, the industry and the communities they serve. 62% of their nationwide members hold local community leadership positions, 17% of the National Association of Realtors Board of Directors are Council members, 18% of the National Association of Realtors Committee slots are held by Council members and 10% of Local and State Realtor Association Presidents are members of the Women’s Council of Realtors.

In today’s changing marketplace, with demanding customers and tough competition, you can’t do it alone. Not only do you need to be connected to the top professionals in the industry, but also to the cutting-edge training, real estate industry information and wealth-building strategies that will build your real estate business and secure your future.

When you join Women’s Council, you tap into powerful programs that yield tangible results for you and your business. The following are just a few of the benefits of belonging.

Networking and Referrals
A Women’s Council membership opens up a whole new world of networking opportunities through local network programs and special events. In addition, the backbone of their member network is the Women’s Council’s online Referral Center, a world-class database designed to connect you to colleagues in this trusted network of professionals. Each Women’s Council member receives a free Member Expertise Profile in the Referral Center to capture industry involvement and community leadership, as well as professional specializations, cities served, education and direct links to social media profiles. Julia adds, “The profiles benefit our members in two important ways; First, it allows us to collaborate across brokerages nationally. Second, Women’s Council of Realtors referrals provide a continuing source of income.”

Pathway to Leadership
As a proud affiliate of the National Association of Realtors, Women’s Council is integral in developing local, state and national leaders who serve on various prestigious positions contributing to the real estate industry, their communities and beyond. Julia emphasizes, “Opportunities exist to volunteer and develop leadership skills at all levels of the organization, enhancing your professional reputation and further honing skills that make involvement an integral part of developing personal and professional leadership traits.”

Support System
At Women’s Council, you’ll experience a world-class support system like no other. You’ll belong to a network of more than 12,000 motivated, professional and high-achieving real estate professional women and men who understand that you’re never too experienced to learn something new or too successful to provide sound advice to your peers. The camaraderie, energy and collaboration among members is unparalleled in the industry, resulting in a membership experience like no other. 75% of Council members support the Realtors Political Action Committee (RPAC) versus 33% of non-member Realtors, making a difference in legislation impacting the industry.

Women’s Council Savings Center
Women’s Council offers premium and exclusive products and services, at outlet prices. Current offers include exclusive savings for top quality products and services which includes some of the world’s most recognized brands. Exclusive “members only” discounts have been negotiated on your behalf, with suppliers recognizing the leadership, success, and purchasing power of Women’s Council members.

Visibility to Consumers
Women’s Council is an outstanding peer network and support system that enhances your professional credibility. Julia recounts, “Your membership in the Women’s Council showcases your leadership in business and your community, increases your sales volume, offers a networking of like-minded professionals and shows your dedication to the industry.”

eConnect Newsletter
As the official voice of Women’s Council, eConnect includes profiles of the most influential women in real estate, as well as the latest practical tips and techniques on growing your business. This digital newsletter is emailed to Council members monthly.

Performance Management Network (PMN)
As the Women’s Council’s official Realtors designation, the Performance Management Network provides the real-world skills that you need to face an evolving market. Designed by some of real estate’s best and brightest minds, PMN courses dig deep into the hot topics that are driving the market and shaping your business. Covering topics such as leadership, negotiating, networking and business planning, the PMN’s suite of professional performance training courses are focused on keeping your business out front and on top of an ever-changing market. “Our national website makes the PMN certification very visible and ensures we have access to those agents with the PMN skill set,” Ms. Montei adds.

Women’s Council encourages members to get involved, because they understand that participation translates to personal growth and leadership development. Women’s Council meets you where you are in your skill development and provides the tools and assistance to take your real estate career to the next level. At Women’s Council of Realtors, they stand for professional excellence, whether you are cultivating business opportunities, acquiring new skills to meet the future head-on or expanding your own potential for leadership and life success.
