Ritz-Carlton Sarasota Awards Hotel Renovation To Pamela Hughes And Hughes Design Associates

Pamela Hughes and Hughes Design Associates Awarded Their Tenth Ritz-Carlton Project.

On the heels of being selected to design The Deckhouses at The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman, internationally renowned interior designer Pamela Hughes, and her firm, Hughes Design Associates, will undertake the renovation scheduled for The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota. The firm is based in Sarasota and McLean, Virginia. The $5 million update of the prestigious Sarasota resort marks the tenth project in which the firm will have been involved with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.

The renovation includes the complete refurbishment of all guest rooms, suites, guest room corridors and the Club Lounge. Guest rooms and suites will receive new custom designed carpet, draperies, seating and other pieces of furniture. TV credenzas were designed to accommodate the addition of flat screen televisions in all rooms. Guest room and suite entry foyers will have a luxurious and residential feeling with the installation of beautiful dark stained wood flooring. The hotel and resort will further strengthen their “green” designation by equipping each room with a digital thermostat to save energy, as well as the installation of energy efficient lighting.

Guest room corridors will be updated and refreshed with the addition of colorful, beautifully designed carpets manufactured by the British and Irish carpet company, Couristan. The carpet is an Axminster weave, and has been designed to reflect the lush tropical elements found in Sarasota in a most elegant way. Colors are soft yet vibrant tones of celadon and sage greens as well as various coral tones.

In addition to their work at The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota and The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman, Pamela Hughes and her team have recently completed the design of The Concession Golf Clubhouse, and are working on numerous luxury residential projects throughout the US.
