2010 Schoenbaum Humanitarian Award Presented At Ritz-Carlton Event

Dr. Larry and Mrs. Pat Thompson Honored At Luncheon.

On Monday, March 8, 2010 the Schoenbaum Humanitarian Award was presented to Dr. Larry and Mrs. Pat Thompson. The “Glitz at The Ritz” award luncheon was held at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota and was hosted by the Salvation Army’s FAITH Program (Families in Transitional Housing). FAITH aims to take families from homeless to homeowner in one year.

The prestigious award is named for the late Alex Schoenbaum, founder of Shoney’s Restaurants. In 1994 Schoenbaum served as the Capital Campaign Chairman for The Salvation Army in Atlanta, Georgia. Under his direction and guidance $33 million was raised for The Salvation Army Officers Training College in Atlanta assuring a solid future of leadership for The Salvation Army.
