MyGreenBuildings Picks Up Economic Development Corporation Award
EDC Proclaims MyGreenBuildings As Entrepreneur Of The Year.
The Economic Development Corporation of Sarasota (EDC) proclaims MyGreenBuildings as this year’s Entrepreneur of the Year. The award was made at its annual Hall of Fame awards luncheon.
The award is given each year to a business that is less than five years old. MyGreenBuildings, a certified “green” contractor, edged out six other nominees for the award by completing 36 projects worth more than $8 million in local spending over the past 3.5 years, the EDC noted in announcing the award.
“We applaud the entrepreneurial fire that propelled MyGreenBuildings to such impressive results, particularly during economic times that have been especially challenging to the building industry,” said Kathy Baylis, president and chief executive officer of the EDC. “The company’s creative approach to carving out a niche in green design and construction will help MyGreenBuildings continue to thrive in today’s marketplace.”
The EDC is a nonprofit organization promoting high-wage jobs and a diverse local economy in Sarasota County.
MyGreenBuildings specializes in high-performance, artistically designed structures using sustainable materials and socially responsible practices. The company is headquartered at 205 N. Orange St., next to City Hall in downtown Sarasota. Website is www.mygreenbuildings.com; telephone is (941) 366.7280, and email is info@mygreenbuildings.com.
