Family Night at the Museum- Farming, Food and Fun!
Come play with your food! And learn about healthy food choices, local resources and fun ways to get more personal with the food you eat. Join us for a screening of “What’s on Your Plate” at 4:15 followed by theme related crafts and activities. Representatives from Chipotle will be here to help you make your own guacamole and you can meet some of your local farmers! Enjoy planetarium shows all evening: Live Star Talk at 7:00, Two Small Pieces of Glass at 7:30, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at 8:15. Manatee presentations in the aquarium at 5:00 and 6:30. Admission is half price after 4pm.  ($8 adults, $6 kids) Members are always free.

Set in a city still feeling the aftershocks of war, a young woman struggles to stand against the principles of an uncompromising authority, in this modern telling of Sophocles’ classic Greek Tragedy. Tickets $10. Cash bar for beer, wine, sodas and snacks.

Electricity is integral to our daily lives.  In this, the second part of our energy symposium, we will investigate options for the future of electricity in Florida.  We will, in particular, try to answer, why doesn’t the Sunshine State have “sunshine electricity”?

World Party
In conjunction with festival sARTée, join us for live music, dance and art from around the world as well as food from local restaurants highlighting various cultures and cuisines.
Performers include Ya Salaam, Swagger It Out, Thomas Carabasi World Fusion Ensemble, Project Flamenco and more! Also be sure to call ahead to take advantage of an exciting opportunity to create original artwork to project on the planetarium dome.
Admission is $25 in advance, $30 on the day of the event. Members are $20 in advance, $25 day of. Admission includes entertainment and food tickets. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. For more information and reservations, please contact Amara Cocilovo at 941-746-4131, ext. 11.

Dark Matters
Local composer Rik Tweed and poet, musician and performance artist David Steiling will perform “Space Music” live under the dome of the Bishop Planetarium. The concert will kick-off Halloween with musical meditations on the dark parts of the universe together with dome art and visualizations to accompany the music. This concert is a must for those who are nostalgic for psychedelic art and laser light-style shows. There will be two evening showtimes, call or check the website for times & info. Tickets $5 / show. Cash bar.
