Selby Gardens Gains Research Intern
Marie Selby Botanical Gardens Welcomes Juan Pablo Pinzón.
Marie Selby Botanical Gardens welcomes new research intern Juan Pablo Pinzón. Pinzón is currently a graduate student at the Yucatan Center for Scientific Research in Mérida, Mexico. He will be at Selby Gardens for one month under the supervision of Bruce Holst gathering information and studying our collection of bromeliads, widely considered to be the best in the world. His specialty is a group of species in the genus Tillandsia, which includes the giant wild pine (T. utriculata), Florida’s largest native bromeliad.
Marie Selby Botanical Gardens is a respected center for research and education as well as a famous orchid showplace. The Gardens is located at 811 South Palm Avenue in Sarasota.
