Icard Merrill Celebrates 57th Anniversary With $5,700 Gift To Girls Inc.
 
In honor of 57 years of legal professionalism and community service, Icard Merrill is celebrating its anniversary with a gift that is in keeping with its altruistic traditions. The firm recently presented a donation of $5,700 to Girls Inc. of Sarasota County, a non-profit organization that aims to empower and educate young women through after-school and summer enrichment programs.

The check was recently presented by the Icard Merrill board to Stephania Feltz, Executive Director of Girls Inc. Icard Merrill shareholders, Mike Furen, Tom Icard, Bill Merrill, Geoff Pflugner, Jaime Wallace and Bob Lyons, president of the firm, joined the presentation ceremony.
 
“We never need an excuse to give back to the community, especially to such a worthwhile organization such as Girls Inc. This gift should make a big change for so many of the families in our community who need to take advantage of the scholarship programs offered by Girls Inc.” said Wallace, a shareholder at Icard Merrill who specializes in family and domestic relations law and is a long-time supporter and a Foundation Board member of Girls Inc. “We wanted to do something to commemorate the firm’s 57th anniversary and this seemed a natural fit. I’m proud to note that Icard Merrill has a long history as a generous community benefactor, whether by promoting volunteerism, providing financial support or encouraging pro bono work among its staff and shareholders.”
