Accompanied by company founder and CEO, Michael Saunders, a contingent from Michael Saunders & Company attended the 2010 Conference for Sales Associates, hosted by Christie’s Great Estates at the luxury real estate network’s New York City headquarters, in Rockefeller Center. The conference, whose theme was “Welcome to the Future”, covered such topics as demographics of the affluent, lifestyle segmentation, trends and amenities in today’s luxury home market and creating a marketing plan for the multimillion dollar property.
The conference featured the top-producing agent from Michael Saunders, Linda Roe Dickinson, who headlined a panel discussion entitled “Strategies for Success”. She was joined by top producing agents from four of Christie’s 128 worldwide affiliates; including New York’s Brown Harris Stevens and Washington’s Long & Foster. Joining Saunders to hear Dickinson share her insights into the luxury market in Southwest Florida were agents Kim Ogilvie, Deborah Beacham and Terri Healey. Georgina Clamage, broker manager of the firm’s Longboat Key offices and Laura Benson, the company’s Director of Agent Services also attended.
“There are no bad markets. There are only markets,” Dickinson said in sharing advice that her mother—who also enjoyed a successful real estate career—gave her early on. “And in any market you have people who need to sell and people with money who need to buy. Sometimes it’s difficult to see that this is actually the case and that every market presents its own unique opportunities. It’s all about figuring out how to make the dynamics of any market work to accomplish your client’s goals.”
“The seminar provided important new insights into the highest tiers of the international luxury real estate market and helped our agents add to their considerable skills at marketing and selling properties of this magnitude in our own market area,” Saunders said. “There is not a luxury home buyer or seller in Southwest Florida who will not benefit from the incremental knowledge our agents and managers brought home from the conference to share with their colleagues.”
Neil Palmer, CEO of Christie’s Great Estates, echoed Saunders’ sentiment. “The sales associates from luxury brokerages affiliated with Christie’s Great Estates are the leading specialists in the high-end real estate market,” he said. “The conference provided an opportunity for the most successful real estate agents in the world to network with one another while sharing strategies for success.”
