Tropical Heritage Plants And Container Gardening.
Saturday, March 5, 2011, from 2pm – 3pm at the Miromar Design Center join Debbie Hughes, Edison & Ford Winter Estates horticulturalist and master gardener as she presents a dazzling view of the award winning gardens at theinventors’ winter homes. Hughes will show the importance of old Florida heritage plants and native varieties as well as demonstrate how to plant many of these in gorgeous containers. The Edison and Ford families were well known for their extensive collection of orchids and bromeliads in the trees of their riverside estates, antique rose garden areas, and the use of containers to grow citrus and herbs.
