Kiwanis Club To Host Sarasota Spelling Bee.
The Downtown Sarasota Kiwanis Club announced a Spelling Bee for Sarasota County 3rd and 4th graders. The competition will begin at 6pm Friday, May 13, 2011 at the Lee Wetherington Boys & Girls Club on Fruitville Road. The spelling bee is FREE thanks to sponsorships.
Paul Gardner, Kiwanis Spelling Bee Chair shares, “We expect between 120-150 children for the spelling bee this year split about evenly between the 3rd and 4th grades. This spelling bee is designed to be a positive experience for all the children involved and to give them the opportunity to experience competition in front of others. This will be the first spelling bee for almost all of the children involved and we hope the bee will be completed in 2-3 hours. US Savings Bond will be awarded to the winners!”
