December 8, 2011 Jannus Live Presents David Allan Coe
Jannus Live Presents David Allen Coe.
The doors open Thursday, December 8, 2011, for a concert at St Pete’s Jannus Live with David Allen Coe.
One of the original country outlaws, David Allan Coe is still defiant after all these years. The heavily tattooed (before it was cool), burly, shaggy, motorcycle-ridin’, story-tellin’, gravel-voiced artist has written and/or recorded such ornery anthems as “Take This Job and Shove It,” “Mona Lisa Lost Her Smile,” “You Never Even Called Me by My Name,” “She Used to Love Me a Lot,” “Longhaired Redneck,” “Would You Lay With Me (In a Field of Stone)” and plenty of others.
Coe has done hard time, lived in a hearse, lived in a cave, had his house seized by the IRS and released a handful of bawdy and funny underground albums, songs from which are faves in his shows. We’re proud to have David Allan Coe —outlaw, American original — on Jannus Live’s stage.
Thursday, December 8th, 7:00 pm, Tickets — $15 advance
