Goodwill Manasota Receives Opal Award

OPAL Award Presented For Outstanding Performance And Learning.

The 2011 OPAL award was granted to the training and development department of Goodwill Industries Manasota in the category of “Excellence in the use of Technology”. The OPAL award stands for Outstanding Performance and Learning and is presented annually.

The OPAL award was presented to Goodwill’s training and performance leaders, Jimena Austria, Instructional Technology Developer; Susan Lowy, Team Lead of Training and Development; and Jo Ann Froman, Director of Training and Development for their work in the development of Goodwill’s online learning center called Goodwill U. The Goodwill U Learning Management System contains online courses designed and developed by Goodwill’s training team and are unique to the operations and retail side of Goodwill Manasota’s business.

The American Society of Training and Development, Suncoast Chapter and the Tampa Bay International Society for Performance Improvement recognized the best and brightest Learning and Performance professionals in the Tampa Bay area at their December awards banquet.
