Sarasota’s American Cancer Society Division Announces Board
American Cancer Society Of Sarasota 2011 – 2012 Board.
The Sarasota Unit of the American Cancer Society recently inducted its new officers and board members for 2011-2012.
“This board of directors is completely dedicated to the American Cancer Society’s mission, which is finding a cure for cancer and celebrating more birthdays,” said Grace Carlson, Unit Chair and President of Carlson Studio Marketing. “Cancer doesn’t discriminate. All of us have all been affected by cancer in some significant way, and that fuels our passion for abolishing this disease.”
Officers include Grace Carlson, Unit Chair; John Griffin, Esq., Vice Chair; Shirley Brown, Advocacy Chair; Anita Devine, Cancer Control Chair; Ann Stickel, Income Development Chair; Maureen Maguire, MD, Nominating/Volunteerism Chair; Steve Wicker, Fiscal Compliance Officer; Todd Horiuchi, MD, Medical Advisor; Shannon Hankin, Esq., Secretary.
General board members include Maureen Avila; Eleanor Ball; Elizabeth Bornstein, LCSW; Richard Brown, MD; Linda Carson; Susan Damico; Todd Hoch; Richard Jamison, MD; Bruce Lesser; Charles Loewe, MD; Barbara Mei; Kathy Mitchell, RN, BS; Jennifer Trent, MD. Honorary Lifetime Members are Gwendolyn Atkins, RN and Phyllis Stephenson, MD.
In addition to the new board announcement, the organization acknowledged the dedicated service of the following members who retired from the board in 2011. They are Bambi Famous Kaine, Lynn Soussou, and Alan Treiman, MD.
