May 11 & 12, 2012 MillerBrady Fine Art Gallery Grand Opening Reception
Gallery Opening Features Contemporary Paintings Mounted In Concrete Frames.
The MillerBrady Fine Art Gallery announced a Grand Opening Reception from 5pm to 8pm on Friday, May 11th and Saturday, May 12th to showcase contemporary minimalist original paintings and glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) framed works of art. The art was created by Eric Miller and Jake Brady and is on display at their new gallery located in Sarasota’s Rosemary District at 614 Florida Avenue. The gallery is just one building North from the corner of Boulevard of the Arts and adjacent to the new Sarasota School of Arts and Sciences on Florida Avenue. Food and refreshments will be served and both artists will be available to discuss their work.
Miller is a career artist and exhibit director with original works in both private collections and commercial settings throughout the United States. Miller holds a Bachelor of Science, Figurative Sculpture and Museum Studies, from the University of Oregon. From his home in Spokane, Washington, Miller draws on low flight aerial imagery to infuse the ethereal colors, texture and patterns in his paintings and works in a proprietary medium that he has developed.
A 20+ year resident of Sarasota Brady launched Concrete Countertops in 2008. There he began using his artistic and design-engineering talents to manufacture one-of-kind countertops, sinks, planters, and table-tops for residential and commercial kitchen, bath, retail, patio, landscape, pool deck and waterfall applications. Brady’s works are all made by hand from one-off molds and designed to fit the individual space. Brady’s medium for constructing his works starts with a concrete base material combined with decorative substrates, glass fiber for reinforcement, hand applied colors and sealers; with the resulting products commonly referred to as Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete or GFRC.
