2018 Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix Festival OFFICIAL Wrap Up
Suncoast Charities For Children Thanks Sarasota Board Of County Commissioners.
Suncoast Charities for Children recognized the Sarasota Board of County Commissioners for their grant support, through Visit Sarasota, towards the Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix Festival during their November 27th meeting. The Grand Prix Festival has become a destination event and continues to generate a strong economic and charitable benefit to the area. The 2018 Festival generated an Economic Impact of $21 Million, 14,800 room nights, and $322,000 in total resort & state sales tax recovered by the county. Over the past five years, a combined estimated economic impact of $140 Million was generated from the event. This annual Festival continues to showcase the Sarasota area with the races being televised on CBS Sports and the Fox Sports Regional Sports Networks nationally here in the United States. Globally it was broadcast to over 150 countries with a reach of over 500 Million people. A live stream of the races shown on Facebook had over 99,000 views. The 35th Annual Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix Festival is scheduled to take place June 28-July 7, 2019.
