Director Brian Kalina worked for three years on a film about the fragility of oceanfront communities, but he lacked that “hook” – the imagery and statement that would sell the film to an audience. New College Appoints Director Of Communications & Marketing. New College of Florida announced it has named Jessica Rood, an experienced and award-winning higher education professional, as its new director of communications and marketing. Rood will be responsible for all facets of New College’s public presentation, including its website, magazines, newsletters and development and admissions materials. She begins work at New College on November 4th. Rood was director of creative services at St. Lawrence University, in upstate New York, since 2011.
