Sarasota County Historical Society Hosts Antique Show
January 29th-31st Bertha Palmer Centennial Antiques Show.
The Sarasota County Historical Society will host the Bertha Palmer Centennial Antiques Show and Appraisals Friday January 29th thru Sunday January 31st from 10am – 4pm at Phillippi Estate Park. Phillippi Estate Park is located at 5500 South Tamiami Trail, in Sarasota Florida.
On Friday January 29th and Saturday January 30th Lark Mason, Nan Chisholm and Greg Kuharic, who are frequently seen on a favorite antiques appraisal TV show will be conducting appraisals alongside local expert Bruce Crissy, from Crissy Galleries.
Appraisals will be done for $10.00 per item with a limit 3 items per person.
Antiques Show admission is $5.00 and your ticket is good through Sunday, January 31st.
Inside the Mansion and in a tent erected on the Phillippi Estate parking lot dealers from around the nation will be selling antiques.
Cincinnati Art Gallery, B & B Johnson, Inc. from Kennebunk, ME, Mason Antiques from W. Cornwall, CT, Ed Weissman Antiques from Portsmouth, NH, Haigs of Rochester, MI, Morning Glory Antiques from Kansas City, MO , Gail Ensinger, and Butte Antiques, just to mention a few, will be sharing the limelight with local dealers, Postans Antiques, Elders Antiques, Art Moderne, and more.
On Thursday, January 28th the Antiques Show opens at a Gala Preview Party in the Phillippi Estate Park Mansion. Guests are encouraged to wear clothing a la 1910, the year in which Bertha Honore Palmer arrived in Sarasota from Chicago.
The show is just part of a huge, year-long celebration of Centennial events, marking Bertha Palmers’ arrival in Sarasota County sponsored by the Sarasota Historical Society and Sarasota Parks & Recreation.

On Sunday, January 31st the Phillippi Estate Park will buzz with even more activity, as the Second Annual History Day in the Park opens to the public with a Family Day including on the lawn: Arts/Crafts/Antiques/ Flea Market.

Four different bands will provide live music all day, as well as many activities for children, quick draw portrait painter, face painter, arts and crafts for little fingers, Punch & Judy shows, historic craft demonstrations and vechicles, and plenty of food and drink for all! Gates will be open from 10:00am – 4:00pm. Free admission, parking is $5.00 per carload.
