Manatee High School Students Tour Forest Creek Model Homes
Neal Communities Hosts Manatee Interior Design Students.
Neal Communities recently hosted about 60 Manatee High School interior design students for tours of their Forest Creek models. This is the only interior design program in Manatee County and one of only a handful in Florida. Their field trip included a detailed overview of floor plans, explanation of design elements and tour of the model homes. Jonnie Dwyer, Neal Communities’ area sales manager at Forrest Creek led the tour.
The tour enabled the students to see the overall process of taking plans and bringing them to life. They can feel the fabrics in the context of furnishings and see how colors truly impact a space.
“We welcome the opportunity to partner with public schools on projects such as this, where the students get to experience academics in action,” says Pat Neal, president of Neal Communities. “We have enjoyed a long-term beneficial relationship with local schools. Great schools are the foundation for great communities.”
“This brings them from text book to application. It is both an educational and enrichment experience,” explains Interior Design teacher Joan Stencik. “Academically, it brings math, English and science together.”
