Tomb Of The Unknowns And Veterans Day. Official, national ceremonies for Veterans Day center around the Tomb of the Unknowns. To honor these brave souls, symbolic of all Americans who gave their lives in all wars, an Army honor guard, the 3d U.S. Infantry (The Old Guard), keeps day and night vigil. At 11 am on November 11th, a combined color guard representing all military services executes “Present Arms” at the tomb. Gala Hits A Homerun For Women’s Sports Museum. More than 200 guests attended the 3rd Annual Women’s Sport Museum Gala on October 19th at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens’ Michael’s on the Bay. The elegant affair started with a sunset cocktail hour in the gardens, followed by dinner, dancing and a high-energy live auction. A special highlight of the evening was the recognition of past and present female athletes.
