Staying true to its mission to inspire girls through the power of sport, the Women’s Sports Museum is accepting applications through Sept. 14th for its 2018-19 Outstanding Female Athlete Scholarship. 4th Of July Boat Races Raise Over $100,000 For Suncoast Charities For Children. A recent report conducted by Research Data Market Research revealed that this year’s 34th Annual HotelPlanner Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix Festival contributed $21.9 Million in economic impact to the area, supported an estimated 14,800 room nights, and generated direct expenditures totaling $9.4 Million. Net proceeds totaling slightly over $100,000 were also raised for Suncoast Charities for Children, who produce the Grand Prix Festival and July 4th Bayfront Fireworks. LWR Block Party To Benefit Taylor Emmons Scholarship Fund. Music on Main will be held this Friday, September 7, 2018 from 6:00-9:00PM on Main Street in Lakewood Ranch. The monthly concert and block party is open to the public. Each month, a charity is selected to participate through volunteering at various booths. Funds raised for the September concert and block party will benefit The Taylor Emmons Scholarship Fund.
