Cat Depot Celebrates Feral Cat Day. Cat Depot will honor National Feral Cat Day on Friday, October 16, 2015, by working with local animal advocates and providing spay/neuter for 16 feral cats from a local colony. Cat Depot has spayed/neutered 1,135 cats and kittens, including 500 feral cats, since the opening of the Rose Durham Cat Care Clinic in November, 2014. Winged Sprints Exceed An Average Speed Of 105mph. Saturday night Desoto Speedway led all Florida tracks with a lineup of 31 Pro Trucks. Drivers came as far as the Georgia line for the event. Chad Chastain, from Alva, FL (Lee County), held off a late restart challenge to win the feature. Later in the evening the winged sprint cars were flying, turning laps in excess of 105 mph (average speed!) on the 3/8 mile asphalt oval. Cat Depot Partners With Florida State Animal Response Coalition. Are you ready to help animals during disasters? Take the next step and become a Disaster Animal Responder. The Florida State Animal Response Coalition will hold an Awareness Level Small Animal Sheltering volunteer training class on Saturday, October 3, 2015, from 8:00am-6pm, at Cat Depot. The class will provide the knowledge needed to work in an emergency animal shelter, and give individuals the expertise and practical experience required to become a professional disaster animal responder.
