Winged Sprints Exceed An Average Speed Of 105mph. Saturday night Desoto Speedway led all Florida tracks with a lineup of 31 Pro Trucks. Drivers came as far as the Georgia line for the event. Chad Chastain, from Alva, FL (Lee County), held off a late restart challenge to win the feature. Later in the evening the winged sprint cars were flying, turning laps in excess of 105 mph (average speed!) on the 3/8 mile asphalt oval.
