As Co-Chair I encourage you to join us June 30th at the Sarasota Yacht Club from 6-10pm as we KICK OFF the 31st Annual Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix week. Proceeds from this event benefit Suncoast Charities for Children. Other than the golf tournament, on June 27th at the Meadows Country Club, these are the only two events that raise money for the charity. Thunder By The Bay Benefiting Suncoast Charities For Children Photography by Chuck Carroll Research Data Services calculated that the direct and indirect overall economic impact of the 2015 Thunder by the Bay Motorcycle Festival was $8 Million (an 8.8% increase from 2014) and generated 6,000 room nights in area lodgings (up from 5,400 in 2014). Great White To Headline Music Lineup. The 17th Annual “Thunder By The Bay” Motorcycle Festival once again promises to be one of Sarasota’s biggest premier events kicking off the new year, presenting Great White in concert! This year’s Festival once again benefits Suncoast Charities for Children and continues to “Honor our veterans, active duty military, and their families”. Suncoast Superboat Grand Prix Benefiting: Suncoast Charities for Children The direct and indirect overall economic impact of the 2014 Suncoast Superboat Grand Prix was calculated at $17,228,300 (a 10.8% increase from 2013’s $15,549,300) and generated 15,900 room nights in area lodgings (up from 13,400 in 2013). 89.1% of out of county attendees surveyed said they visited the area due to the race and festival and not the July 4th holiday.
