Spay Day Event Appeals To Veterinary Community. February 25, 2014 is World Spay Day, and the Venice Cat Coalition has organized a quad-county event to celebrate by promoting more spaying and neutering for local cats and dogs in Sarasota, Charlotte, Lee, and DeSoto counties. Veterinarians and animal welfare groups in this area agreed to donate approximately 200 surgeries for cats and dogs this year. World Spay Day is a national campaign sponsored by the Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International. Suncoast Workforce is hosting a FREE Veterans and their Families Jobs and Services Fair, February 7, 2014 at Ed Smith Stadium. 80+ employers and service organizations will be on hand looking for qualified applicants. The job fair is sponsored by Legacy of Valor and is a collaboration between Suncoast Workforce, Goodwill Manasota and the Baltimore Orioles.
