Gulf Coast Community Foundation Awards Arts Appreciation Grant. Florida Studio Theatre was awarded a $45,000 Arts Appreciation Grant from the Gulf Coast Community Foundation. The foundation’s Arts Appreciation grants provide unrestricted funding to cornerstone arts and cultural organizations in the region to help them pursue their artistic missions. “Florida Studio Theatre has produced high-quality contemporary theatre for over 45 years, and with the Gulf Coast Community Foundation’s generosity, we will be able to continue to generate top-notch work for a vast audience at a fraction of the standard price,” shared Producing Artistic Director Richard Hopkins.

User After Free Vulnerability – Google Chrome. Google has issued an update to its Chrome browser to patch two serious zero-day vulnerabilities — one of which is currently being exploited in the wild. Because of the seriousness of the vulnerabilities, it’s highly recommended that you update as soon as possible. One of the vulnerabilities is described as a bug with Chrome’s audio component, while the second is an issue with a PDF viewer. Reportedly, the audio component bug is the only one being exploited. The foundation’s Arts Appreciation grants provide unrestricted funding to cornerstone arts and cultural organizations in the region to help them pursue their artistic missions. “Sarasota Orchestra congratulates Gulf Coast Community Foundation on their 25th anniversary. Daylight Savings Time Can Be Dangerous! Did you set your clocks back? At 5pm virtually everyone is awake. Far more people are active at 7pm than are at 7am. Not just a minor inconvenience to your sleep cycles and busy schedule there are ramifications. Adding an hour of sunlight in the evening year-round would save the lives of more than 170 pedestrians annually. The lives of nearly 200 vehicle occupants could also theoretically be saved by not making the change. For the first couple weeks even though it is dark and you are reacting like it is light. Be careful.

The Ringling To Feature LEGO Exhibit. Zodiac LEGO (2018) is a series of individual works that is constructed of Lego bricksto represent the following animals: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Ram, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig. Zodiac LEGO will be on view at The Ringling in the Keith and Linda Monda Modern and Contemporary Art Gallery, November 17, 2019–February 2, 2020. The Ringling is the first museum in the United States to show this traveling exhibition. If You Are A DoorDash User Were You Compromised? DoorDash suffered a data breach that affected approximately 4.9 million users. Consumers, Dashers, and Merchants who joined DoorDash on or before April 5, 2018, are affected. Users who joined after April 5, 2018 are not affected. Hackers obtained names, delivery addresses, contact information, drivers license information and partial credit-card/bank account numbers.
