Sarasota Opera Super Casting Call For Men. Sarasota Opera is seeking a number of enthusiastic, outgoing men to volunteer as supernumeraries, or “supers”, the non-singing and non-speaking extras in the opera productions for its 2019 Winter Festival Season. Age range for these characters is from young adult to 65. The “super” roles are for men only. Giuseppe Verdi Returns To Sarasota Opera. The last time Sarasota Opera performed Nabucco, the work that solidified Verdi’s reputation as an opera composer, was in 1995. The production was part of the company’s historic 28-year Verdi Cycle, a feat that made Sarasota Opera the only company in the world to have performed all of Verdi’s music.
