NEW DATE Chef Paul Mattison will collaborate on a farm-to-fork wine dinner with Sweetgrass Farms on Friday, February 27, 2015 starting at 6:30pm. The new hydroponic farm opens on January 10, 2015. Remember Pearl Harbor. The Day of Infamy that launched the epic conflict with Japan took place at Pearl Harbor in the early morning hours of December 7, 1941. The tranquil waters of Pearl Harbor were forever disrupted by the tides of war. That morning all 8 U.S. Navy battleships were damaged, with 4 sunk. The Japanese also sank or damaged 3 cruisers, 3 destroyers, 1 anti-aircraft training ship, and 1 minelayer. 188 U.S. aircraft were destroyed. 2,402 Americans were killed (The Arizona 1,177) and 1,282 wounded. New College of Florida Hosts Dr. Fiona Crawford. Military veterans wounded by roadside bombs commonly suffer from traumatic brain injury. Recently, studies have shown that professional football players also experience traumatic brain injury, from less severe but repeated impacts to the head. Tomb Of The Unknowns And Veterans Day. Official, national ceremonies for Veterans Day center around the Tomb of the Unknowns. To honor these men, symbolic of all Americans who gave their lives in all wars, an Army honor guard, the 3d U.S. Infantry (The Old Guard), keeps day and night vigil. At 11 am on November 11th, a combined color guard representing all military services executes “Present Arms” at the tomb. The nation’s tribute to its war dead is symbolized by the laying of a presidential wreath and the playing of “Taps.” REAL Exclusive salutes our Veterans!
